Born in 1949, Katherine E. Kenah grew up on an oceanographic observatory among scientists and cats, developing an interest in the environment, physical science, and the creatures of land, sea and sky. Having spent the early part of her career on numerous scientific research vessels, Kenah settled with her husband, son, and two daughters in Granville, Ohio. Turning her efforts to children's literature, Kenah has written a number of books intended for children from kindergarten to age eight. Destruction Earth, a Level 2 reader published in 2004 by McGraw Hill, presented an overview of such natural disasters as earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides and avalanches. Published by Waterbird Books in 2004, Predators Attack informed readers about the hunting techniques of such alpha predators as alligators, cobras, Great White sharks, and Bengal tigers.
