Sara E. (Traynor) Holbrook was born August 15, 1949, and has lived in Ohio for more than 20 years having earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Mount Union College (Alliance, OH). She began writing poetry for her two daughters (now adults with childen of their own) when they were children. Holbrook has worked as a teacher, in public relations, for law, public housing, and drug prevention fields before writing and performing full-time. In addition to her prose for children, teens and adults, she also presents poetry and writing workshops and shares knowledge about the potentially lethal rare bleeding disorder, Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), at schools and teacher conferences throughout the United States and abroad. Holbrook currently lives in Mentor, Ohio with fellow poet and performer, Michael Salinger.
