Bestselling author Karen Harper is a former college instructor and high school literature and writing teacher. She was born in Toledo, the daughter of Robert A. (an engineer and draftsman) and Margaret (a teacher) Kurtz. She is married to Don T. Harper and has three adult children. Harper’s prolific career began in 1982 with the publication of her first novel, Island Ecstasy. Since then, Harper is the author of more than 40 novels, including historical romance, contemporary suspense and a historical mystery series. Her books have been published in many foreign languages including Japanese and Greek. Her historical novels contain carefully researched backgrounds and take place in locations as diverse as Elizabethan England to American Amish country. A lifelong Ohioan, Harper now divides her time between homes in Columbus, Ohio and Naples, Florida.
