    In June 2010, Mayor Frank Jackson appointed 15 members to the new Group Plan Commission.  Their charge is to analyze ways to revitalize the Cleveland Mall Plan, originally designed in 1903 by Daniel Burnham, John Carrère, and Arnold Brunner.

     The Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards recognizes books that examine and address issues of racism and have an impact on expanding our cultural awareness and appreciation for diversity.  The Cleveland Public Library's Special Collections Department houses a copy of every Anisfield-Wolf Award winner from the first award in 1936 through today's most recent winners.     Robert C. Gaede was a nationally esteemed Cleveland architect who devoted his life’s work to architectural preservation and city planning. He served on many boards, committees, discussion groups, as well as lectured and authored on the importance of preserving our architectural heritage.
