Other Noteworthy Downtown Exhibits and Events

Throughout the year, the Main Library served as the home for a multitude of special exhibits designed to celebrate art, theatre and architecture in and around Cleveland. Highlights included:

  • Music at Main — a series of eight musical performances, including the Cleveland Clinic Band, featuring physicians and other medical professionals from The Cleveland Clinic, and the Akron Steel Drum Band, which the Library sponsored as part of downtown Cleveland’s Winterfest celebration.
  • Lockwood Thompson Dialogue — a salute to independent filmmaking featuring the producer of “American Splendor” who provided tips for getting started in the film industry.
  • See Also Program (“The power of the pieces”) — a special Eastman Reading Garden display featuring the photography of Donald Black, Jr., to create unique chess tables.
