Friends of the Cleveland Public Library

The Library continues to rely on the support of the Friends of the Cleveland Public Library to fund important programs throughout the year at the branches, as well as at the Main Library. A majority of funding provided by the Friends is allocated to support literacy programs and special exhibits and events designed to get young readers passionate about reading.

Although the group raises funds throughout the year, the largest fundraising event - “Night at the Library: Backstage” — was hosted on November 6. The event, which was created to highlight the library‚Äôs amazing theatre collection, featured themed exhibits and costumed characters, such as Peter Pan. As a result of this event, as well as others, the Friends contributed $11,000 to purchase books that were used as incentives for the Summer Reading Club. | MORE »
