Friends of the Cleveland Public Library

Other key initiatives made possible by partial or full funding by the Friends include:

  • Youth programming from infants to teens, including performers, entertainers, craft materials and refreshments
  • Arts on Wheels, a program at 12 branches that allows youth to work with a local artist to learn the basic principles of illustration
  • Visits to the Library by international delegations from China and Sweden
  • Eugenia Thornton Scholarships (four $1,000 scholarships awarded to library employees and their dependents, Friends’ members and Library patrons)
  • Friends’ membership programs, e.g. Lunchtime Lecture Series and exhibit tours
