27. Chessmen. Marble or quartzite: reddish brown vs. charcoal. King 7" H. Wood case-board, lined and fitted with blue felt; opens into two compartments, secured with wood lids; stamped "Made in Korea."

Incomplete set: one Pawn missing and one damaged (not exhibited). Chessmen are in Korean costume with appropriate headdresses identifying King, Queen, and Bishop. Knight is mounted, Rook is a square castle with an elaborate three-story high roof. Pawns are warriors in armor, holding swords.
